The Brown family's kauri villa nestled in trees beside Taiaotea Creek, Browns Bay. Viewed looking northeast towards the rear of the homestead from the vicinity of the junction of Argyle and Browns Bay Roads. Historical note: Peter and Mary Brown purchased 136 acres of land on the Browns Bay flat in 1876. The first Post Office in Browns Bay was run from a small room off the back verandah of the house.
