Description

Bus at the Highbury shops, heading round the corner from Birkenhead Avenue (Glenfield Road) onto Hinemoa (Hauraki) Street, Birkenhead. Fruit Mart (possibly the Devonia Fruit Mart) on the left, Sutcliffe Garage on the right. The Civic reserve and old Council building (where the present Birkenhead Library is now sited) is out of view in front and to the right of the garage. View is south west down Hinemoa (Hauraki) Street, looking towards Waitematā Harbour and central Auckland in the background.
