Demolition of the Birkenhead Borough Council Building in 1967.The building is mostly demolished with some timber framing still standing. The plunket rooms are open (right) and refreshments are being served. A flower bed containing five standard roses remains intact in front of the Plunket rooms.In 1949, the Free Birkenhead Public Library was established in the basement of the Council Chambers, opening on November 14.
