Portrait of Peter Brown seated on two horse-drawn open-wagon. Historical note: Peter Brown, a farmer from Mount Albert, purchased 136 acres (allotment 189-Parish of Takapuna)from Mrs Hammond in 1876. He cleared the land for cattle grazing and established an orchard, vineyard and apiary. The farm was subdivided in 1916. - Exploring the East Coast Bays by Wilson R.G. & Smith R.A
