"The New Zealand 'fleece to garment' record was broken in Manurewa last week by a team taking part in a demonstration at Southmall for National Wool week .... The sheep were shorn by ex-champion, Ivan Bowen, who plucked the fleece from one sheep in a mere 59 seconds. From the sheep's back the wool went to three spinners who teased it suitably for the team of three knitters who completed the garment, a child's pullover.
