A view of Papatoetoe's new Baptist Church in St George Street, April 1971. Construction of the church started about eight months ago. The completed church is valued at $115,000. The cost of the building was $69,000, provision for car parking totalled $9,000, and furniture for the church interior amounted to $11,000. The first $55,000 was raised by church members. Savings were also made by members volunteering their time and expertise
