Description

Mr Garfield Johnston, headmaster of Hillary College with two 7th-form students of the school, David MacDonald (centre) and Barry Ekins (right), who were awarded 'Auckland Star' bursaries recently. The bursaries were introduced in commemoration of the newspaper's centenary in February 1970. The bursaries of $250 are awarded to outstanding pupils to encourage them to go on to advanced studies in technology.
