Description

A group of convalescent soldiers, with their nurses, relaxing at 'Puhi Nui', the McLaughlin homestead at Puhinui, near Papatoetoe, ca 1917. The soldier in the front is missing his right arm, another soldier in the second row has a patch over his right eye. The Corporal in the front row (two chevrons) may be a Maori. The man in civilian dress next to him is the host, Mr Wills McLaughlin.
