This shows Bert Moe's Papatoetoe Garage and Service Station to the left and Mrs Elizabeth Hunter's Papatoetoe Tea Rooms and Drapery to the right. Mrs Hunter also advertises tobacco, ice cream, confectionery and stationery for sale. It was the presence of these tearooms that gave rise to the name Hunters Corner.
