Description

Photograph of a framed copy of the Manukau City coat of arms as granted in 1968. After the formation of Manukau City in 1965, a competition was held to design a suitable city coat of arms. This was won by Auckland artist Hilda Wiseman. Her design was submitted to the Royal College of Arms in London, which made a number of alterations to conform with heraldic rules.
