Description

The opening day of the Papatoetoe Croquet Club, September 1914. The Papatoetoe Bowling Club and Papatoetoe Croquet Club's joint pavilion and greens on the Papatoetoe Recreation Ground, Great South Road, Papatoetoe, had been formally opened on 8 November 1913. This occasion has been identified as the opening day of the croquet club's second season. A second storey was added to the original pavilion in 1924.
