Aerial view of the Orlando Drive entrance to the Manukau Sports Bowl. Manukau City Council developed the sports bowl on a 22-hectare recreation reserve in Clover park alongside the southern motorway between 1987 and 1989. Its main features included the Manukau City velodrome (officially opened on 16 September 1989) and the Auckland Greyhound Racing Club's greyhound racing track (which first came into use on 18 December 1989).
