Description

'The Maori Church', a watercolour painting by Zilla Annie Raynes, 1927. This depicts St James Anglican Church, Māngere Bridge, viewed from near Miss D. Raynes' cottage in Coronation Road. The low stone fence that crosses the foreground protects the cemetery to the left. Zilla Raynes is sometimes referred to as Zilla Moss, having changed her name when she married Walter Moss in 1932.
