Description

The former passenger ferry 'Baroona' undergoing a refit at Manurewa, July 2005. In 1998 the ferry was transported from Westhaven to this site, beside the Great South Road to the north of Manurewa, for conversion into a theme restaurant. A bistro and fast food venue known as 'Captain Hook's' was opened here on 28 August 2005. It closed down little more than a year later, and the structure was demolished in July 2009.
