Description

The entrance to the Ihumatao Quarries Scoria Pit Ltd quarry site, Ihumatao Road, Māngere, August 2003. The company was actively quarrying the remnants of Elletts Mountain at the time. One of a series of photographs taken by Henrietta Alford between 1998 and 2005 to record changing scenery along Ihumatao Road and in the vicinity of Auckland International Airport.
