Description

A horse harnessed to a bogie loaded with sawn timber from the mill in Piha valley with tail-end bogie cart and men standing by. In the background is the mill timber yard with stockpiles of milled timber, above which are the valley slopes of regenerating bush. Historical note: "Horse power was used to move loads of sawn timber from the mill to the foot of the Piha incline, here a load is ready to move, complete with a truck of fuel for the hauler."
