Description

Cropped view of the 'Lone Kauri' tree on the West Coast Road (now Piha Road) with a horse-drawn wagonette by the tree. The Waitemata County Council had the Lone Kauri felled in August 1935 on the grounds that it posed a threat to motorists. See New Zealand Herald, 21 August 1935, Page 12
