Description

From the corner of Matai Street and Clark Street, view of Amalgamated Brick and Pipe works buildings showing the tunnel kiln. In the left foreground is the garden and hedge on one side of the yard entrance. The telephone pole on the corner has four cross arms and insulators, with a junction box below the lowest cross arm. Historical note: Matai Avenue became Rankin Avenue from 1 March 1969. (Source: A guide to the history of Waitakere Street Names by David Verran).
