Description

The foundation stone of the Church of England's new Orphan Home is laid at Papatoetoe. The architect of the new buildings is George Selwyn Goldsbro', who has also been commissioned to design a chapel (see also 21 September 1918). The children are moved to the new site from Parnell on 1 April 1909, and the first stage of the new Orphan Home is formally opened on 1 May 1909 (see also 29 May 1923).
