Laurie Bushell was born in Southport and moved with his family to central Liverpool as a young boy. His first career was photography, particularly photo-journalism, commercial, sports, and portrait photography. Growing up in Liverpool at the time of the heady sixties, when the Beatles came into prominence, he photographed many of the popular bands of the time for FAB magazine.
