Description

Anthropologist, Dame Joan Metge is an outstanding example of the many Pākehā New Zealanders who have helped non-Māori to come to terms with Māori. She trained as an anthropologist , doing her first work in the Far North and Auckland. She traced the shift from country to city for her first book, 'A New Māori Migration.' She has since written nine other books. Sofia Minson's mixed Māori (Ngati Porou), Swedish, English, and Irish ancestry has sparked her interest in how we relate to the culture ...
