This photograph was the resource used by Peter Crammond for the mural he painted on the wall of the National Bank. It shows the first National Bank in Katikati. Behind it is Jim Sarsfield's barber shop with the billiard saloon at rear. The Farmers Trading Co. store in this photograph is where the BP petrol station is now, and further along are the Central Motors garage owned then by Ozzie Openshaw and the Talisman Hotel. The year is around 1930 going by the vintage of the cars and trucks
