Description

Showing heavy flooding in 1917 at the railway line in Allanton, a small town some 20 km southwest of Dunedin at the Eastern edge of the Taieri Plains. There are three buildings in the background, on the right being seen the house from which the stationmaster and his wife were rescued at 1.30 o'clock in the morning.
