Description

Showing an old dilapidated gold dredge near the Buller River on New Zealand's West Coast, an area where gold dredges operated to a limited extent from the 1890s to around 1911, hampered by patchy returns and damage from floods. Masses of dead vegetation appear caught up high in the framework of the dredging arm.
