Description

Group portrait of people in Myers Park, Auckland, in August 1917, gathered together to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the opening of the Thames goldfield in 1867. The large building visible at the back of the crowd, in the centre of the photo, is the Myers Free Kindergarten which along with the park was given to the city by Auckland politician Arthur Myers.
