Looking north-west across the city of Auckland from an altitude of 6,500 feet in January 1919. Albert Park lies in the lower right hand corner and the Auckland Town Hall with its distinctive clock tower facing Queen Street, lies at lower centre. The tall chimney with the plume of smoke centre left belongs to the municipal refuse destructor in Victoria Street West, and its smoke is drifting across the adjacent Victoria Park.
