Description

Showing the Tarrant Tabor triplane bomber, briefly the largest plane in the world, just before its maiden flight from the Royal Aircraft Establishment at Farnborough, England on 26 May 1919. There are a number of spectators in the foreground, and another group gathered beneath a wooden passenger boarding bridge tower at the far side of the plane. The plane crashed on its maiden flight, leading to the death of the two pilots and injuries to its five passengers.
