Description

Showing a side view of the full-rigged ship Dunedin (Official Number 52452). The ship is shown tied up at a wharf beside some sheds at Port Chalmers in 1882, to load the first cargo of frozen meat to be shipped from New Zealand. The dark smoke rising from the small smoke stack in the centre of the vessel is probably from the ship's coal-fired freezing plant.
