Description

The recent arrival of the dredge Kaione, purchased at a cost of 30,000, with the object of dredging the channel to Town Wharf, so as to allow large vessels to reach the town without lightening at Castlecliff. Showing a small crowd on the breakwater at Castlecliff, Wanganui, watching the arrival of the Kaione, purchased to dredge the channel of the Whanganui River to allow coastal vessels to reach the wharf at the bottom of Wanganui's main street.
