Description

Autumn meeting of the Wellington Racing Club: personalities and track snapshots at Trentham last Thursday. The meeting opened on Thursday and concluded on Saturday. Racing both days drew excellent attendances and totalisator figures for the meeting constituted a record for an autumn fixture at Trentham. On Thursday, the Thompson Handicap, chief race of the meeting, was win in decisive fashion by Oratory, and the three-year-old classic, the New Zealand St. Leger Stakes, went to Royal Chief.
