Description

Political cartoon with the Japanese Inspector General reviewing various British and colonial regiments and not finding the British army's performance adequate even for a junior treaty partner. (Hitherto, Britain has always seen itself as the senior partner.) The new Chief Inspector: H-m-m-. Not altogether bad, perhaps, but lifeless, you know, lifeless. You'll want a power of bringing up to date before you satisfy me as junior partners.
