Mihi Ruihi Ashford pictured with three young children, playing with toys at Te Kohanga Reo Mihi Ashford (nee Petaera) was an old girl of Turakina Maori Girl's College. She was a stalwart of Te Kohanga Reo movement and Te Kura Kaupapa Maori in Whanganui. Mihi completed her degree at Victoria University in Wellington, one of the first on her course to do so.
