Turn Back Tuesday is sticking with a travelling theme this week. This is Bob Croxton, a swagman photographed in Pongakawa sometime in the 1930s. Originally an Australian term which started being used in New Zealand in the late 1800s, the word was used to describe transient workers who traveled on foot from farm to farm, carrying all their worldly goods in their swag - a kind of bedroll.
