Description

One of Captain Donald Macmillan's sons from his second marriage to Maria de la Barca, he was very involved in Katikati's public life. He served on the Road Board and was the Secretary and Board Member of the Katikati Dairy Company. He moved to Tauranga in 1908, and was the Mayor of the town from 1915-1917. He became MP for the district in 1923, and he became Minister of Agriculture and Mines in 1932. He held his parliamentary seat until 1935, after which he returned to local politics. He die...
