Description

Looking south along Māngere bridge towards Māngere Mountain, showing a horse and cart and a signboard listing the bylaws of the Māngere District Board. St James's church, Māngere Bridge can be seen (right background). The driver of the cart is believed to be Mr Mann, a farmer in Māngere Bridge who used to deliver milk to the ships at the Onehunga Wharf. His cart was reputedly the last vehicle to cross the first Māngere Bridge before its demolition.
