Description

Breakdancing has been confirmed as a medal sport at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, and its selection forms part of a push to lure a younger audience with new urban sporting codes. It will join skateboarding, climbing and surfing, which will be new sports at next year's Tokyo Olympics. Breakdancing will be referred to officially as "breaking" – a reference to its origins in the United States in the 1970s. Kent Christensen if the founder of The Breaks NZ and he spoke to Māni Dunlop.
