Portrait of Mary Margaret Stubbing née Bowie (1819-1894). Noted with file "Mary Margaret Bowie was born in Scotland in 1819. She married Benjamin Stubbing of llford, Essex, in Scotland in 1836. They had a family of 9 children - Margaret, William, Benjamin, Arthur, Walter, Malcolm, Alice, Donald and Frank. From Scotland they travelled down to Plymouth, where in 1858 they boarded the ship "John Scott" and sailed for New Zealand under an immigration scheme which provided land for them on their a...
