- Description
Pātiki, Nihoniho: tukutuku panels in Tauranga Library, by Joan Lynd, Waina Borell. The Pātiki and Nihoniho patterns go well together. We have used this pattern to show how well Māori and Pākehā can work together. The well-known whakataukī (proverb) 'Nāu te rourou, Nāku te rourou ka ora ai te iwi' reflect the meaning behind this panel. "By your food basket and mine, the people will be nourished". Donated to the Tauranga Libraries by the Māori Women's Welfare League
