- Description
In 1967 Contract Bottlers Ltd. purchased land on No. 4 Road in Te Puke and began work planting and tending shelter belts. Those trees were to shelter 14,000 trees of mostly lemons, and some oranges. The trees would take approximately 5 years to mature, then would supply New Zealand with fruit and juice. Oasis Orchards developed the land and the lemons were used for Scweppes’ sparkling lemon drink until Keith Oakley bought the orchard in 1997.
