Description

Found under tree (in the other pic) by grand daughter in grounds of Frankleigh School. Approx 70 mm long x 12-15 mm dia [nothing handy to scale it with on the day]. ? Gum Emperor ? (but I haven't seen one before that wasn't bright green colour with pronounced coloured tufts). The caterpillar appeared to be quite happy when children put it back on tree trunk and within 15 minutes was 2m off the ground and still climbing towards the foliage.
