Phylum: Mollusca Class: Bivalvia Order: Ostreida Family: Ostreidae Genus: Magallana Species: Magallana gigas Found on the rocks at an intertidal zone. Those Oyster were introduced to NZ. They can have different colors and can grow up to 400mm. They are very tolerant to salinity and temperature.
