- Description
Two-masted brig whaler built in 1807 in Bermuda. Arrived in New Zealand at Port Nicholson from Sydney on 26 October 1835. Four days later the crew were seized by Māori, and the master, Captain Harewood, was instructed to sail the ship to the Chathams. The ship was returned to Port Nicholson in November of that year. On 15 April 1836 the Lord Rodney was wrecked at West Head, Whangaroa, after departing Bay of Islands the day prior.
