This handstitched christening gown is made from white lawn. White lawn is sheer, lightweight, fine plain weave textile which is known for its semi-transparency and was a popular material for christening gowns to be made from. There is a V-shaped panel of eyelet lace on the bodice that is trimmed with wings also of eyelet lace. The short sleeves are also capped with eyelet lace.
