Description

A woman's black cape, we do not know its provenance but it is a fine example of late Victorian woman's outerwear. This heavy woollen cape has three rows of black feather trim, one on the collar and two on the shoulder. Decorative stitching between the feather trim adds interest as does the feather trim down each side of the front opening. The lining is black cotton sateen and the cape is fastened with metal hooks and eyes. Another feature is a deep folded tail pleat.
