- Description
A black voile and cream satin evening dress with matching detachable overskirt. The dress has short sleeves, a round neckline, and five black buttons to fasten at the back of the neck. The bodice is of the pigeon breast style popular in the earlier part of the 20th century. The slim skirt, pigeon breast bodice with lower waist (not quite a drop waist) and simple silhouette are all characteristic of 1920s fashion. However, the overskirt is more in keeping with 1950s trends.
