A sepia-toned studio portrait of William Paulin, son of John and Ann Paulin (née Stevens). Ann Paulin was Captain John Howell's half sister. She was already married and pregnant with husband John Paulin when John Howell convinced his extended family to move to Riverton with him, from Australia, after the death of his mother. Their son William Paulin was born in Riverton in 1851. He married Amelia Dyke and together they raised 7 children, though Rachel Mabel died as a baby. Amelia died young, ...
