A black and white photograph of William Fryer with his daughter Fanny, and grandson Alexander McPherson. William John Francis Fryer was born on 11 March 1853 in Wellington. He married Caroline Ada Collinson in 1880. William worked for the Perry family at their sawmill at Colac Bay, and one of his daughters later married one of the Perry's sons.
