Peter King was the youngest son of Robert and Catherine King (neé McIntyre). Peter was born in Langside, Perthshire, in 1861 and came with his parents to New Zealand in 1899. For some time Peter farmed in several locations around the country including at Catlins River, Fortrose, and in the North Island.
