A black and white photograph of four generations of the Paulin family. William Paulin was born in Riverton in 1851, he was the son of John and Ann Paulin (neé Stevens). Ann Paulin was Captain John Howell's half sister. She was already married and pregnant to husband John Paulin when John Howell convinced his extended family to move to Riverton with him, from Australia, after the death of his mother.
