This is a photograph of Matheson's Limited General Merchant. In 1916, John Matheson purchased the General Store on the corner of Ferry Road and Seaward Downs Road, Edendale. John was an Invercargill merchant and by 1920 Matheson's Ltd had acquired most of part 1 and also the section, part 2 on Ferry Road.
